BIOLAB PARTNERS WITH WHO AND UNICEF FOR PIONEERING DIAGNOSTIC RESEARCH

2024-11-06

Biolab has announced a groundbreaking partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, focusing on diagnostic testing, research, and advisory services. This collaboration aims to deliver high-quality testing and diagnostic consultations through extensive field surveys and research studies in countries such as Senegal, Burkina Faso, Madagascar, and Kyrgyzstan. These studies focus on analyzing local communities' micronutrients status. Samples collected from these regions are transferred to Biolab’s facilities for analysis and studies.

Recent studies conducted in Kyrgyzstan include a comprehensive national survey on micronutrients and anthropometry, while a similar national micronutrient survey has been initiated in Madagascar, with the support of WHO, UNICEF, and local health ministries.

Dr. Amid Abdelnour, Biolab’s founder and CEO, stated that this partnership represents a step towards expanding Biolab’s services beyond Jordan and the Middle East and emphasized that this venture opens doors for Biolab to share its expertise globally, contributing to various international projects.

Dr. Abdelnour highlighted that this collaboration underscores the high level of skills that Biolab’s medical team is known for, the advanced services of biolab, and the laboratory’s distinct ability to offer top-tier diagnostic and laboratory services within Jordan and abroad. He also expressed his pride in biolab’s ongoing achievements, which continue to advance the medical laboratory sector.

As a leader in medical diagnostics and laboratory testing, Biolab offers over 700 types of medical tests for individuals, doctors, hospitals, and other laboratories throughout the Middle East and Jordan. Biolab has 25 branches across key locations in Jordan, along with a presence in Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

Biolab distinguishes itself with accreditations from five international quality assurance bodies: the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Joint Commission International (JCI), ISO 15189 accreditation from the Jordanian Accreditation System (JAS) for high-quality healthcare services, the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC), and the ISO 27001 for information security.
