C-Reactive Protein High Sensitivity (hs-CRP), Cardiac, Serum

1Day(s)

Reference Range

This is an automated blood test designed for greater accuracy in measuring low levels of CRP, mainly to assess cardiovascular risk. High CRP levels are associated with inflammation, which can damage the inner lining of the arteries and make having a heart attack more likely. People with HIGHER hs-CRP values have the highest risk of cardiovascular disease, and those with LOWER values have less of a risk.

Special Requirements

Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP For alternative sample type, call the chemistry department.
