Mycoplasma pneumoniae Antibodies, IgM, Serum

1 Day(s)

المجموعة المرجعية

IgM antibodies are the first to be produced by the body in response to infection. Levels of IgM rise for a short time period and then decline, often remaining detectable in the blood for several months. Testing for specific IgM can be useful to confirm a positive result. Re-infection leads directly to an IgG response; therefore, the absence of a positive IgM test does not rule out an acute infection. See Mycoplasma pneumoniae Antibodies, IgG, Serum and Mycoplasma pneumoniae, PCR.
