Lipoprotein (Lp) A, Serum

Reference Range

Lp (A) is a lipoprotein particle which contains LDL and apoB100. Its metabolic control is independent on that of the other lipoproteins. A high plasma Lp (A) concentration is an independent risk factor for atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease and stroke syndrome. It is structurally close to plasminogen and could represent a link between atherosclerosis and thrombosis.
