Absolute Eosinophil Count, Blood

1 Day(s)

Reference Range

An absolute eosinophil count measures the number of eosinophils in the blood. Eosinophils become active when having certain allergic diseases, infections, and other conditions. They play a role in immune-regulation, tissue remodeling, and the killing of foreign organisms. This test may help diagnose Acute hypereosinophilic syndrome, early stages of Cushing’s disease, or an infection by a parasite. HIGH levels of absolute eosinophil count might indicate Eosinophilia, while LOW levels indicate Eosinopenia.
