Campylobacter Antibodies, Serology Serum

10 Day(s)

Reference Range

Campylobacter organisms are spiral-shaped, gram-negative bacteria that can cause disease in humans and animals. Symptoms include diarrhea, cramping, abdominal pain, and fever within two to five days after exposure to the organism. Diarrhea may be bloody and can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Occasionally, Campylobacter infections cause bacteremia, with consequent endocarditis, osteomyelitis, or septic arthritis. The presence of antibodies against Campylobacter indicates past or recent exposure.
