Anti-Hu is associated with small cell lung cancer. Anti-Ri is associated with neuroblastoma (children) and fallopian tube or breast cancer (adults). Anti-Yo is associated with ovarian and breast carcinomas. The presence of one or more of these antibodies supports the clinical diagnosis of paraneoplastic syndrome and leads to a focused search for underlying neoplasm. These markers aid in the discrimination between true paraneoplastic disorders and other inflammatory disorders of the nervous system.
