المجموعة المرجعية

Beta-Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (b-hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone produced mainly by the placenta and some germ cell tumors, hence it is considered to be an important tumor marker. This test is useful for early detection of recrudescence and metastasis. It is also used for the diagnosis, monitoring the treatment, and detects recurrence of trophoblastic tumors of the testis (germinal seminoma) and of the ovary (moles, choriocarcinoma, and chorionic epithelioma) INCREASED levels of b-hCG may be a sign of cancer of the testis, uterus, ovary, liver, stomach, pancreas, or lung.
