Cardiovascular disease is a broad term used to describe a range of diseases that affect your heart, and in some cases, your blood vessels. It generally refers to conditions that involve narrowed or blocked blood vessels that can lead to a heart attack, chest pain (angina) or stroke.

It is also called “heart disease”. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is currently the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and its incidence is likely to increase.

A recently published study showed a surprising number of people with low LDL cholesterol levels still developed heart disease. Looking at good and bad cholesterol calculations simply is not enough.

However, here at biolab we have a comprehensive panel assessing a variety of risk markers that may contribute to heart disease progression. Cholesterol Triglycerides Hight Density Lipoprotein - HDL Low Density Lipoprotein - LDL Apolipoprotein A - apoA Apolipoprotein B - apoB Lipoprotein a - Lp(a) Homocysteine C-reactive Protein - CRP Fibrinogen
