A Breakthrough Set to Detect Whether or Not People are at Risk of Developing Cancer (Amman, November 6th, 2013)- Biolab - the exclusive Biomnis dealer in the Kingdom - recently collaborated with  an international lab in England.

The collaboration led to both entities investigating breast cancer gene mutations “BRCA1&2”.  The new breast cancer genetic test is only recently being adopted worldwide, serving to diagnose all available mutations in the genes.

Administrating such tests helps physicians to detect the disease early on, or better yet, the risk of a patient getting it and consequently to explore ways in which the risk of its spread could be reduced.

It is worth noting that testing helps in the early detection of diseases, whereby a positive test result provides information only about whether or not a person is at risk of developing cancer. Not all people who inherit a harmful BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation will develop the disease. The test itself is performed using the newly introduced Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) diagnostic platform; a new technology replacing the conventional Sanger sequencer.
